Epoxy Floor Repair and Recoat in Nixa, Missouri

An epoxy recoat renews a worn topcoat on a floor whose basecoat is still bonded to the concrete.

Nixa Epoxy Floors assesses the existing floor first, because a coating that is delaminating cannot be saved by another layer on top of it.

If the bond is sound, a recoat is a one-day job. If it is not, the old system comes off and the floor is rebuilt.

How do you tell a recoat from a rebuild?

Tap and pull. A hollow sound under a tap and a coating that lifts under a knife means the film has released from the slab. That floor gets removed, not recoated.

A floor that is simply dull, scratched, or ambered from UV but still tightly bonded is a recoat candidate. Scuff-sand the surface, clean it, and lay a fresh clear topcoat.

  • Hollow tap or lifting edges — rebuild
  • Bubbles or blisters — moisture problem, test before touching it
  • Dull, scratched, or yellowed only — recoat
  • Hot-tire lift in the parking spots only — spot repair and recoat

What causes hot-tire pickup?

A warm tire softens a thin or weakly bonded coating and pulls it off the slab when the car sits. It shows up as bare patches exactly where the tires park.

The cure is film build and preparation, not a better sealer. Nixa Epoxy Floors grinds those areas back to concrete before rebuilding them.

How is epoxy floor repair and recoat priced?

Epoxy Floor Repair and Recoat questions

Can you fix a peeling garage floor without redoing the whole thing?
Sometimes. If the failure is limited to the parking areas and the rest is bonded, those zones are ground back and rebuilt, then the whole floor gets a fresh topcoat.
How often does an epoxy floor need a recoat?
A residential floor typically wants a fresh clear topcoat somewhere in the 10 to 15 year range. Commercial floors under forklift traffic come up much sooner.
My floor has bubbles. What happened?
Bubbles and blisters almost always mean moisture vapor coming up through the slab. Nixa Epoxy Floors moisture-tests before quoting anything on a blistered floor.
Can you recoat a floor another company installed?
Yes, once the existing system is identified and adhesion-tested. Nixa Epoxy Floors will tell you plainly if it is not worth saving.
